WineMaker for a Day™

When:
Various dates (see below)
Where: Christie Vineyards Winery
Who: Wine fans looking to learn how to make, blend, and taste wine!
Cost: $236 per person.

Ever wondered what it's like to be a winemaker? This unique event allows you and your group to experience exactly what a winemaker goes through in the quest to develop the perfect wine.

Held at Christie Vineyard's beautiful winery just outside Healdsburg, California, this event will be one for you to savor. During your experience, you will:

  1. Tour our vineyard with the winemaker and learn how good wine starts in the vines, what to look for in good grapes and how they are nurtured, harvested, and then made into wine.
  2. Learn the art of blending wine and how choosing the right mix of different varietals can change the taste and character of a wine.
  3. Perform blind tasting of each blend. Learn what to look for when tasting a wine and how to identify key taste components and aromas.
  4. Finally, bottle and cork your very own blend to take it home with you!

In addition to learning more about winemaking, you'll also enjoy:

  1. Creating a custom label for your own wine bottle. Christie Vineyards has many design templates that can be customized with text or photos and applied to your wine bottles during the event.
  2. A highly memorable wine country lunch or dinner pairing.
  3. Matching award-winning wines with local Sonoma County food products.
  4. A visit from one of our local product producers, such as a goat cheese farmer or olive oil producer.

Christie Vineyards' winemaker Steve Aitken will be on hand to help ensure your group has a fun, engaging, and educational experience that you won't forget.

This event is perfect for corporate groups as a team experience, groups celebrating special events such as birthdays, anniversaries, or engagements, or just families and friends looking for a new way to experience Wine Country.

Come by yourself or bring your friends. We host up to 36 people for each event and they sell out quickly.

Summer Blending Event

When: Summer (TBA)
Where: Christie Vineyards Winery
Who: Anyone with tickets
Cost: $75 admission charge per person (Big Club Christie Members get two free tickets)

Come helps us put together a unique Zinfandel blend this year. Play horseshoes, have some great food and wine, and learn how to blend wine like a pro. Enjoy some great Chardonnay paired with mixed green salad and fresh bread, for example. For those of you who eat shellfish, we'll have abalone too. Steve Aitken and his buddies like to go diving for Abalone, that hard-to-find relative of the oyster that lives in the Pacific coastal waters just 45 minutes from Christie Vineyards. Most locals will tell you that diving for Abalone is crazy. Really crazy. Not only are the Abalone hard to find in the murky water, it's also very dangerous work.

The upside, of course, is that Abalone are very prized for their unique taste and texture and when Steve and co. find some abalone they like to donate the catch to fans of the winery.

It's a great afternoon of food and drink at our beautiful winery setting in Healdsburg. This event sells out quickly when it is announced, so make sure you are on our list to get notified. Club members can pick up their shipments at this event.

Put Your Mark on the Winery

Not too many wineries can say they appreciate you enough to put your name right on the side of the building. But Christie Vineyards club members get to do just that.

In addition to the many other benefits that club members enjoy, each member also gets to brand their initials right into the side of our winery barn. With personal assistance from winemaker Steve Aitken (OK, our insurance guy says he has to do it -- the branding iron is really hot, after all) you'll pick a spot and burn away.

It's a fun way to spend some time at the winery, sample some of our award-winning wines, and make a day of it. Contact us for more information, or read up on how to join the wine club.
